Why did Ash Ketchum bring a ladder to the Pokémon League?
Because he heard that’s where he could finally win his first title and he wanted to make sure he could reach it!
You see, despite his many attempts, Ash Ketchum had never won a Pokémon League Championship. He had come close several times, but always fell short at the last hurdle. His friends and rivals often teased him about this, saying that he was always “one step away” from victory.
So, when Ash heard that the next Pokémon League Championship was going to be held in a high-rise building, he decided to take the phrase “one step away” literally. He bought a ladder and carried it all the way to the championship venue.
When he arrived, everyone was puzzled. “Ash, why did you bring a ladder?” they asked.
Ash just smiled and said, “I heard this is where I could finally win my first title. I just wanted to make sure I could reach it.”
Everyone laughed at his joke. But in the end, Ash did win his first title at that championship. And from then on, whenever anyone asked him how he did it, he would just smile and say, “I guess I finally reached that one step.”
